## The Real Reasons

**1. Your process is too slow** Top candidates have multiple options. If your process stretches beyond 3 weeks, you'll lose people to faster-moving companies.

**2. Competing offers** They received another offer and didn't want to have an awkward conversation. Most ghosting happens at the offer stage.

## How to Prevent It

**Set expectations**: Be clear about timeline and next steps at every stage. Uncertainty drives people away.

**Ask directly**: "Are you considering other opportunities? Where are they in their process?" Information helps you move strategically.

**Sell throughout**: Every interview should leave the candidate more excited, not just more evaluated.
